The Band of Brothers: Press/Reviews

β€œIt is safe to say that there is never a dull moment musically on this CD. The high quality and professionalism found in the musicianship, the compositions, the lyrical messages, and the variety of vocals and moods, ranging from humorous to poignant have come together in songs which are a delight to listen to, yet resulting in encouraging, inspiring and blessing the listener.”
"When I heard The Band of Brothers had a new CD out, I jumped at the chance to take a listen to it. Not only are these guys great musicians, but they are some of the greatest storytellers you'll ever hear. They really know how to boil it down to the real essence of things.”
Dansville's amazing group of funny, talented, terrific musicians. Bluegrass, originals, classics, they do it, with panache. You'll be singing along. I can't say enough about these men - their enthusiasm, musicianship, wonderful original songs and the joy they bring the audience, Come see for yourself!
They are terrific. I always feel so good during and after a performance. Check them out! Take a listen! Spread the word! Buy CDs! Download them from iTunes! Come see them! Request them on your radio station! Bring them to your town! And tell 'em I sent you. Can't wait for them to record the song they did about the great-uncle (great-great-uncle?) of one of them, who went off and was never heard of... until he was.
"...features some of the crispest and most precise instrumentation that I've heard. All the stringed instruments come to life and are near flawless...reminds me of a hot summer night sitting out on the back porch sipping iced tea with someone playing the guitar - while family and friends share all that life has to offer."

Beautiful, inspirational, uplifting, encouraging, soul-soothing; composed & played by people with the spirit of God. These songs are all about the journey of life - sometimes physical and sometimes not. The harmonies, chords, words, tempo, timing and singing all contribute to the end production of each song for a treat to the ears and the mind. Many of the songs are about one man's ancestors and about all of our ancestors at the same time. 'Good Bye To The Green' is one of my favorites. It tells the stories of so many who fled massive famines from many countries to the unknown of the USA. The Irish music and singing are exquisite. I laughed and I cried (in a good way). The line: 'The famine had taken our island away' says so much in 7 short words. Some of the songs demonstrate intense longing, earnest perseverance, steadfast patience, more than 1 kind of love, stoicism, Godly resolve of will and the believing action to back it up. 'Closing Down The Buggy Whip' is about a timeless theme occurring in every generation - more & more as time goes on: Is all this progress always the best thing? 'My Heart' should be the next great wedding song and will warm your heart (even if it's very cold). If you've ever wondered "Are we there yet?", 'Almost There' will give you a lot to enjoy and think about - It's not all about the end of the road, but is also about what you think about, believe and how you live your life on the way there while you keep the faith and your hope regarding what is to come.
