The Band of Brothers: MP3s/Lyrics

Crying Holy (lyrics)

(The Band of Brothers)
Traditional, Arr: Jamie Stevens
Note from Michael: "Crying Holy" is a perfect example of the Traditional American Roots Music loved by The Band of Brothers. Our concerts and rehearsals are always generously peppered with these songs. ("Turn Your Radio On", "Take Me In Your Lifeboat" and "Keep On The Sunny Side" are other concert favorites of ours.) Jamie brought this tune to the group and it easily found a spot on our first CD.
Crying Holy to the Lord. I'm crying holy to the Lord.

Now, if I could, I surely would, stand on the Rock, where Moses stood.

Sinner, run - and hide your face. Oh, sinner, run - and hide your face

Run to the rocks, and hide your face. The rocks cried out, "No hiding place".

Crying Holy to the Lord. I'm crying holy to the Lord.

Now, if I could, I surely would, stand on the Rock, where Moses stood.

Well, I ain't no stranger now. I said, I ain't - no stranger now.

I've been to the water, and I've been baptized, and I ain't - no stranger now.

Crying Holy to the Lord. I'm crying holy to the Lord.

Now, if I could, I surely would, stand on the Rock, where Moses stood.
